Royal Icing

Royal icing can be used for many things around the holiday season.  A friend of mine uses the following Royal Icing recipe for frosting cookies.  It is thicker for better decorating, but it hardens making it great for cookies.

You will need:
3 Tablespoons Meringue Powder
4 Cups (about 1 pound) Powder Sugar
6 Tablespoons Warm Water

Beat all the ingredients together for 10 to 12 minutes on a low speed until the icing forms peaks.

Tip: Start with 3 to 4 Tablespoons of water and add water 1/2 tablespoon at a time until desired consistency.

Great icing to use if you were throwing a Cookie Decorating Party or a Cookie Exchange.

You can order your Meringue Powder through Amazon! They have everything!

Are you in need of a mixer?  Here are three options.
