Okay so I saw this and glanced at it, but didn't go to the site before I attempted this.  The caption of the pin read "Frozen Bananas = I SCREAM"  So I throw some bananas in the freezer and attempt to make "Ice cream" with them.

It was really good - throw some ready whip on there with some fresh strawberries and a little chocolate sauce an excellent alternative to ice cream.

WELL - in getting ready to give credit where credit is due for this post (I just like to link to the actual sites not my pins) I find out that you can add 2 tablespoons of vanilla to it to give it a vanilla taste.  She also gives tips on how better to puree up the frozen bananas.  Tips like chop them up before you freeze them and use over ripe bananas.

Pin-spired: Headband Organizer

You know you are on Pintrest too much when ....

You ask yourself where did I get this idea.  Then have to log in and you end up pinning new amazement before you even look for your idea.

Okay ... 5 new pins later the reason I went to Pintrest in the first place.

This is an amazing headband organizer made from an oatmeal container.  Something we don't have in our house.  However, I have formula canisters.  Yes, I am one of those moms don't judge me.  *wink*

So I dug out some scrapbooking paper and tape.  Yes, that is all it took.  Measure the size of your container.  Cut off the excess.  Tape and wrap around.  If you are using a patterned paper like I am you might need two pieces of paper to line everything up.

It works great to keep her headbands all nice and organized.  However, my daughter might need two!  LOL

Pin-spired Make it Monday

This may or may not be a known fact - I love to create things.  I especially enjoy creating gifts for others.  These usually are in the scrapbook variety of things.

I found these (pinned through my sister - shout out to Hipster's Guide to Road-Tripping)

The caption on this picture is that you get tiles from Home Depot, and Modge Podge the paper onto the tile and seal.

SO ... That seemed super easy, and I could adapt it.

Here is what I did.

1. We made Hand-Print Mums:  Make a fist and paint the pinkie side of your fist green.  Using your finger prints make all the flowers.  Make them all over the place!  Mum plants have tons of blossoms.
2. Take funny picture of your family making the mums.  - Get everyone involved. Yes, I even had the baby get in on the action.
3. Go buy the following: Modge Podge (craft store) Tiles (home improvement store).  If you need it foam paint brush.  If you want to recreate what I made you will also need a really, really strong glue and a bamboo placemat.
4. Cut some art work and the mums to fit on each tile.
5. Slick some Modge Podge onto the tile and lay the paper over it.  Hold it in place.  Repeat for all tiles.
6. Let dry for 30 minutes and cover with another coat of Modge Podge.
7. Let dry for 30 minutes.
8. Cut a piece of cardboard just smaller than your placemat and glue onto the placemat.
9. Glue the tile to the other side of the placemat and let dry for 24 hours.

Last two pictures - Picture one for Nana - 8 4 inch tiles.  Mums in the middle, and random paintings on the sides.  Picture two for Sister-in-law 6 3x6 tiles.  One handprint Mum painting but positioned in different ways to give a different look.  If you want to make coasters, just glue felt on the bottom of the tile. 

PS - This was so easy!  I will be making more of them! I want my own hotplate.

PSS - Funny things happen when we let Hickman #1 get involved.  Hickman #3 (Kaitlyn) was mesmerized by him looking like a kitty cat.

Do we have to wonder where Hickman #4 get's his amazing blue eyes from?

Pin Worthy Prayer Cards

I had this idea.  We are teaching Kaitlyn about prayer, even though we are in Prayer 101 ourselves most of the time, why not have some prayers that we routinely say with our meals and add our heart felt prayers at the end. 

I swagbucked (it's Google-ing just on Swagbucks where I can earn points) and looked up mealtime prayers.  I adapted several that I found and used some classics.  I wrote them on 3x5 index cards and glue them to some thick card stock scrapbooking paper.  I cut the bottom off a cracker box and covered it with paper. 

Some prayers we used:

God is great,
God is good,
Let us thank Him
For our food. 

Kaitlyn keeps saying God is good first, so we have added our own.

God is good,
God is great.
Let us thank Him for the food on our plate.

Thank you for the food we eat
Thank you for the world so sweet
Thank you for the birds that sing
Thank you for everything.
